Controller 4.10

Release Date: April 6th, 2021

Power Tool Attachment

We've just released controller and REV support for the Power Tool attachment. This feature utilizes the grabber arm mount to power in-water tools such as an angle grinder or drill by rotating the axel at a fixed rate. The user will be able to control the power tool with the grabber joystick and alter between clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation. Additionally, the controller's UI has been updated to display appropriate safety prompts and a relative power gauge so users can understand when the tool is on and if it has stalled out.

Problems solved

For many users the power tool attachment means they can accomplish tasks such as cutting net or rusted bolts with their ROV instead of having to hire a diver. Along with saving money, users will also be able to save time by accomplishing these tasks in water instead of removing their vessels/objects by dry-dock.

Product Screenshots/Videos

2. Once the user presses the grabber joystick down they will get a prompt asking if they'd like to enable the power tool.

3. After confirming, the tool will be enabled and the UI will change to show this. The power gauge on the left side shows the amount of relative power being fed to the tool, and the ROVs current speed and steer gains.

4. Now if the user presses the grabber joystick down again the tool will begin spinning and the gauge will move.
